Beatrix Potter, or Helen Beatrix Potter (1866 – 1943) was an English children's book author and illustrator. The basis of her many projects and stories were the small animals that she smuggled into the house or observed during family holidays in Scotland and the Lake District.

All in all she wrote 23 books, they were published in a small format, which was easy for a child to hold and read. She struggled to find a publisher for her first story "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" until it was accepted in 1902. Ironically "Peter Rabbit" went on to become her most famous character.

At some time these poems, stories and books have been read, or will be read in the Learn English Book Club with Your Teacher online.
