George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright based in the United Kingdom. He was uniquely the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature (in 1925) and an Academy Award for Writing Adapted Screenplay (in 1938 for Pygmalion). After those of William Shakespeare, Shaw's plays are among the most widely produced in English language theatre
